Frome Birth Talk, which supports families through the challenges of pregnancy, baby loss and early parenthood, is looking for new trustees to join its board.
For many parents, the perinatal period - pregnancy and the first two years after birth - can be a time of vulnerability as well as joy. Frome Birth Talk has become a vital part of the community by providing accessible, timely support for those experiencing perinatal mental health difficulties across Frome and the surrounding areas.
As the charity continues to grow, it is now seeking new trustees to help guide its future. The board is particularly keen to hear from people with experience in midwifery, health visiting roles, or fundraising. Anyone who has lived experience of being a young parent or being from a marginalised ethnic background is also encouraged to apply.
Successful applicants will join a diverse and dedicated panel of trustees committed to ensuring parents do not face perinatal mental health challenges alone. Trustees play an important role in shaping the organisation’s strategy, supporting its sustainability, and helping the charity reach more families who need support.
“I’ve been a trustee with Frome Birth Talk for just over a year” says Holly Brown. “Every trustee brings their own unique set of skills to the table. My background is in HR, and so I’m able to use my knowledge to help shape policy, share information around best practice in employment and recruitment and ensure the charity is sustainable for many years to come. It’s hugely satisfying to be part of the FBT team, and I’d encourage anyone looking to give back to their community to consider applying.”
This is a rewarding opportunity to contribute professional skills while making a meaningful difference in the lives of local parents and children.
Those interested in joining the board or learning more about the role are encouraged to email Frome Birth Talk: info@fromebirthtalk.org.uk for further information.
