Why Choose Frome Birth Talk for Counselling?
Short waiting list
Unlike many counselling services, our average waiting time is just 3-4 weeks, ensuring you get the help you need quickly.
Ongoing Support
Counselling is offered in blocks of 6 or 8 sessions, and each client is eligible for 2 blocks of counselling per pregnancy, which can be taken up until 2 years after their child's birth (or after a loss).
These blocks can be taken separately (e.g. one block in pregnancy, then one block after birth) or may, at the counsellor's discretion, run back-to-back.
Please note, a new pregnancy within two years re-sets this 2-block eligibility.
Flexible Options
We understand the challenges of balancing family life. That’s why we work with you to schedule sessions at times that suit you.
Professional and Compassionate Care
Our team specialises in working with mothers and fathers, offering a safe space for:
-
Emotional support during pregnancy
-
Adjusting to parenthood
-
Coping with grief after baby loss

Can I bring my baby to sessions?
We understand that arranging childcare or being separated from your baby can be a source of stress or anxiety for new parents. If your baby is very small, and you would rather they were in your arms, they are welcome to join you during your counselling sessions. If you're comfortable leaving your baby and have someone to be with them, we find most people are able to be more open when they attend alone.
We encourage parents of older babies (who are crawling or on the move) and toddlers to attend our sessions alone. This is because it can be distracting to have them with you, and our counselling rooms aren't set up to be safe spaces for little ones. Some topics of conversation aren't appropriate for young ones, and we find that parents are better able to open up and explore their emotions without their children present.
If childcare if a barrier to you receiving our support, please do let us know and we will try to accommodate you in whatever way we can.
